Televangelist Oral Roberts visited Monday for the first time in three years the university named for him in Tulsa, Okla., and responded to allegations against his son, the school president, by saying, "the devil is not going to steal ORU," TulsaWorld.com, the online version of a Tulsa newspaper, reported.
Roberts was referring to a lawsuit filed by three former professors who alleged they were fired after attempting to reveal that President Richard Roberts misused funds, according to TulsaWorld.com.
Oral Roberts said he is serving as co-interim president with Victory Christian Center pastor Billy Joe Daugherty while Richard Roberts is on leave of absence as school president, TulsaWorld.com reported.
The alleged misused funds supposedly went to home remodeling projects, almost $30,000 for a senior trip to the Bahamas for one of Richard Roberts' daughters and text messages sent on university cell phones from Richard Roberts' wife to underage males, according to The Associated Press.
