Filmfest DC Times vary Wisconsin Avenue Cinemas - 4000 Wisconsin Ave. N.W. Metro: Tenleytown/AU (red line) Come see the 21st annual Filmfest DC, the city's independent international film festival. The festival features films from more than 30 countries, including some of the newest films in international cinema today. Most films cost $9, but there is a free screening of "Ray" at the Lincoln Theatre 10 a.m. April 24. Most films will be at the Wisconsin Avenue Cinemas, but other events will be held at Busboys and Poets, the National Gallery of Art and the Greenberg Theatre. Tickets are available through Tickets.com, Filmfest DC's Web site or one hour before each screening at the Wisconsin Avenue Cinemas. For more information, visit www.filmfestdc.org.

Duke Ellington Jazz Festival with Dianne Reeves 8 p.m. Lincoln Center - 1215 U St. N.W. Metro: U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo (green line) Listen to Dianne Reeves, four- time Grammy winning Jazz singer, perform at Lincoln Center as part of the Duke Ellington Jazz Festival. Open-Air French Market 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday through Saturday, April 28 Georgetown - Wisconsin Avenue, between P and R streets, N.W. Metro: Foggy Bottom/GWU (blue/orange lines) Over 30 Georgetown shops will sell their goods at discounted prices at this open-air French Market. Maryland Day 10 a.m.-4 p.m. University of Maryland-College Park Metro: College Park - U of Md. (green line) The 9th annual Maryland Day has over 400 free events and activities free and open to the public. This year the theme is, "Explore Our World." Big Band Jam Times vary Sylvan Theater on the National Mall - 15th Avenue and Constitution Avenue, N.W. Metro: Smithsonian (blue/orange lines) The conclusion of the April 20-29 Big Band Jam features the International Jazz Jam, which includes jazz bands from Norway, France, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Austria.
