Bob Drury, co-author of "Halsey's Typhoon," will discuss the true tale of when Adm. William "Bull" Halsey sailed his undefeated Pacific Fleet into a powerful storm that sank three destroyers in December 1944. Defying orders, Lt. Cmdr. Henry Lee Pledge, captain of the U.S.S. Tabberer, sailed his crippled ship through 70-foot waves and 150-mph winds to rescue drifting sailors. The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

Join Agostino von Hassell, grandson of a man executed for his part in an attempt to kill Hitler, and his co-author Sigrid Macrae, as they reveal a fascinating new perspective on World War II in "Alliance of Enemies," a book that challenges the conventional wisdom of one people united behind their Fhrer. The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

"When Fish Fall in Love" is just one among many in the Iranian Film Festival. Veteran theater director Ali Rafiee's first film uses the language of food to tell a story of passions changing over generations. Political prisoner Aziz returns home to his Caspian village after two decades to find his ex-lover and her daughters running a restaurant out of his abandoned home. Tickets are free.
