This panel discussion will explore the ways in which questions of discrimination and intolerance are being seen as issues of central concern in relation to social cohesion in countries and peace and security internationally. The panelists, including academics, activists and government officials, will discuss national legal frameworks and regional institutional mechanisms to monitor inequality and promote social inclusion, including the proposed Inter-American convention against racial discrimination.
