"Everything...But the Turkey" 5-8 p.m. D.C. Jewish Community Center, 1529 16th St. N.W. Metro: Dupont Circle (red line)

This Thanksgiving event features over 400 volunteers to help prepare over 10,000 meals for people in need in the D.C. area. The event is open to people of all religious faiths and backgrounds. The registration fee of $10 helps offset the cost of food supplies for the meals.

Citizen Cope will perform his combination of East Coast R&B sounds with his acoustic Southern singer-songwriter roots. Tickets are $30 and are available at www.930.com.

"Shock and Awe" Monday-Friday, 5-8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, noon-8 p.m. Warehouse Gallery, 1019 Seventh St. N.W. Metro: Gallery Place/Chinatown (green, yellow and red lines)

"Shock and Awe" is an exhibit at the Warehouse Galley where artists respond to the issues of war and peace. The show features artwork from photographs of bombings in Lebanon to artwork of peace efforts after Katrina hit New Orleans. Admission is free.

"A Christmas Carol"

Ice Skating in the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Days and times vary, through mid-March National Gallery of Art Sculpture Gallery Metro: Judiciary Square (red line)

Ice skating at the Sculpture Garden is open again. Admission is $6 for students and skate rentals are $3. The Pavilion Caf? serves sandwiches, wraps, gourmet pizzas, salads and hot chocolate and teas to warm up cold ice skaters on a winter's day.
