Campus brief: Delta Tau Delta works to improve D.C. school

On Sept. 17, 25 brothers of AU's Delta Tau Delta fraternity worked on the school grounds of Amidon Elementary School in Southwest D.C. to "make it a more pleasant place to learn," according to a press release.

The grounds improvement is part of an on-going project with Amidon Elementary through the Adopt-A-School Program, a national organization Delta Tau Delta has partnered with for their philanthropy work.

"The brothers of Delta Tau Delta have partnered with Amidon in order to better the learning of those youngsters who are less fortunate than AU students," said Matt Schlesinger, a fraternity member and sophomore in the School of Public Affairs, in the press release.

The beautification project was part of their continuing relationship with Amidon. Throughout the year, they will tutor students and help them "to perform better in school and, in turn, help mold them [into] the leaders of tomorrow," Schlesinger said.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
