The board of trustees approved all 15 members of the Presidential Search Committee at their Sept. 15 meeting, according to a press release.
Committee members were selected in several ways. Committee Chairman Gary Abramson selected the trustee, staff and dean representatives, according to the original announcement of the search. Leaders of the Student Government, Graduate Leadership Council and Student Bar Association selected GLC Executive Director Wade Murphy and SG President Ashley Mushnick as the student representatives.
Previous presidential search committees also included student government leaders as members. Full-time faculty voted to select School of Communication Professor Patricia Aufderheide, College of Arts and Sciences Professor Alan Kraut and Senior Reference Librarian Mary Mintz as their representatives, The Eagle previously reported.
Six of the eight trustees on the committee are alumni of AU, including Abramson, Jack C. Cassell, Gisela Huberman, A. Robyn Mathias, Matthew Pittinsky and Jeffrey Sine.
The committee expected to hold its first meeting today and will provide an update soon after it meets, according to the press release.
