Skyline 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The National Theatre Metro: Metro Center (Blue, Yellow, Red lines)

Skyline creates original music and also performs popular covers. Each singer brings his or her unique influences to bear on the sound, producing music with a blend of rich vocal textures and soaring leads, accented with thumping bass and vocal percussion. The concert is free but seating is limited. Tickets are required and are distributed without charge one half-hour prior to performance on a first-come, first-served basis.

Wednesday, Feb. 8

Pentagon Row Bachelor and Bachelorette Auction Champps Americana 7 p.m. 1201 S. Joyce St., #C-10 Arlington, VA

Those who don't have a Valentine's Day date yet can come to this auction and bid on eligible men and women to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research. Last year's event raised $23,000 for the charity, and this year organizers are hoping to top $30,000. Admission is free.

Thursday, Feb. 9

Greening the Built Environment as a Response to Climate Change 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences, 6th and E streets, N.W. Metro: Gallery Place/Chinatown (Red/Green/Yellow Line)

At this presentation sponsored by the Koshland Science Museum and the National Building Museum, Dr. Tim Beatley and Dr. Bruce Hayden from the University of Virginia will present green design concepts for homes and communities. They will discuss the relationship between architecture and climate change and how specific design features can mitigate potential climate effects on the urban environment. Admission is $12; advance ticket purchase is required.

Save the Castle Event 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Brewmasters Castle, 1307 New Hampshire Ave., NW Metro: Dupont Circle (Red Line)

AU graduate students in public history will hold a special Friday night event for area students and professionals interested in touring the New Hampshire Avenue mansion of German brewer Christian Heurich. The event will bring history students and professionals together to raise funds to save the Heurich House, which is at risk of being sold and lost to public use. Graduate students in American University's Department of History will assist visitors on self-guided tours of the most intact late-Victorian house museum in the country. Admission is $15, with a reduced admission of $10 for those with an ID from a university, museum, or preservation non-profit. Admission includes snacks and drinks. Reservations required.
