Bono to promote service at D.C. speech
Bono, Nobel Peace Prize nominee and lead singer of the group U2 will speak at the Washington Hilton and Towers Friday night about living a more involved life.
The speech is part of the 12th annual Nation's Capital Distinguished Speaker Series held by the American Society of Association Executives & the Center for Association Leadership. While the series has always been directed at employees of associations, people from all sorts of professions, including college students, have attended the speeches in recent years, according to Susan Sarfati, president and CEO of the Center for Association Leadership and executive vice president of ASAE.

Rep. Blunt advocates political balance
Representative Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), interim House majority leader, spoke to students at the "Take Back Georgetown Day," intended to "liberate" Georgetown University from the perceived liberal ideology of its campus, the Hatchet, George Washington univeristy's student newspaper, reported Monday.
Blunt said students need to push the conservative message on campus in order to provide an ideological and political balance on college campuses.
Blunt was joined at the event by Fred Barnes, editor of The Weekly Standard, said both political ideologies need to be discussed to allow students to decide which one they connect with.
Also discussed were Jack Abramoff, immigration, the federal deficit and health care reform.
