Fund established for 9/11 workers

Two New York House Of Representatives members called on the Bush administration to appoint someone to supervise testing and treatment of people affected by the destruction of the World Trade Center, USA Today reported Thursday.

Rep. Vito Fossella and Rep. Carol Maloney said yesterday there is currently no single person in charge of screening and monitoring the health effects of those who were affected by the World Trade Center's destruction.

"They worked on this pile behind us, and they were exposed to a cocktail of poisonous gases, toxins, pulverized cement and glass, and these particles are still in their bodies, still in their lungs, and many of them are becoming sick," Maloney said in USA Today.

The recent deaths of three Trade Center rescue workers were cited by the Congressmen as evidence of a health problem.

ABC News team injured in Iraq

ABC News reported Sunday that "World News Tonight" anchor Bob Woodruff and his producer Doug Vogt were seriously injured by an IED while traveling in an Iraqi Army vehicle.

Woodruff and Vogt were initially taken to Baghdad for treatment but were then moved to a U.S. military hospital in Balad, north of Baghdad to undergo surgery. Both suffered head injuries.

The ABC News team was embedded with the U.S. 4th Infantry Division but was temporarily traveling with the Iraqi Army. They were traveling in an armored U.S. vehicle but switched to an Iraqi vehicle, which are much less protected.

McCain to appear on "24"

Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) recently filmed a cameo appearance for an upcoming episode of the FOX television show "24," the San Francisco Chronicle previously reported.

The shoot took place in Los Angeles, where the "24" story is set.

According to the January issue of Maxim magazine, McCain is a fan of the show said "24" executive producer Evan Katz.

"...he was a real fan of the show. I mean, he knew details. He actually watches!," Katz told Maxim.

This is not McCain's first brush with Hollywood, he made a cameo appearance in last year's "Wedding Crashers" with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.
