Fight for Freedom: The Overt and Covert Story of African Americans in the Civil War 11 a.m. African American Civil War Memorial Museum

Hear the story of how freedom was won by Americans of African descent. The documentary "Fight for Freedom" will be shown, and Curator Hari Jones will lecture on the covert activities of African Americans during the war.

D.C. Glassworks Open House 3 - 10 p.m. 5346 46th Ave., Hyattsville, Md.

D.C. Glassworks holds an open house every seven weeks. Saturday's open house will feature free beer, wine, food, juice and soda in front of live glassblowers and a local rockabilly band, Buck Forty Nine.
