Judith Miller, The New York Times reporter who was jailed for refusing to reveal a confidential source, presented an award Saturday to W. Mark Felt, the famous confidential source behind the Watergate scandal, according to the Washington Post.
Nick Jones, the grandson of the former FBI associate director, accepted the award for Felt because Felt could not attend the ceremony. The California First Amendment Coalition presented the award.
Felt used the code name "Deep Throat" to help Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein break the Warergate scandal that led to President Richard Nixon's resignation.
