Police Blotter

Friday, Feb. 18

Desk staff reported defaced property in Anderson Hall after seeing writing on the wall of the second-floor south bridge. Aramark was called to remove the graffiti.

A Public Safety officer observed a female drinking an amber-colored liquid from a water bottle in Mary Graydon Center and reported an alcohol violation. The female, who was a visitor, admitted it was whiskey. She was attending the Andrew W.K. concert in the Tavern and was unaware of the university's alcohol policy. Public Safety sent her away.

Saturday, Feb. 19

An Anderson Hall resident assistant reported an alcohol violation. The RA questioned a male drinking beer in a second-floor lounge, who fled the scene when asked to identify himself. Shortly after, Public Safety identified him through information from other students.

Sunday, Feb. 20

Defaced property was reported at the Asbury Building. An AUTO van parked at the sports center exterior was reported to have its windows shattered.

Defaced property was reported at the Kogod and Ward Circle buildings. Five red spray-painted pictures of naked men were reported on the front of the Ward Circle building and on the exterior walls of the lecture hall between Kogod and the Kay Spiritual Center. 2FIX was called to clean the walls.

Two male students reported burglary in Anderson Hall after finding that underwear and electronic equipment were stolen. Both males are pledging a fraternity. Public Safety said the fraternity may have been involved in the incident.

Monday, Feb. 21

A resident assistant reported defaced property in Anderson Hall. The RA reported that on a second-floor elevator panel, derogatory writing about a fraternity was written in permanent marker. Aramark was called to clean the graffiti.

Tuesday, Feb. 22

A false fire alarm was reported in Letts Hall. A pull station was pulled on the sixth floor. No fire or smoke was reported.

Defaced property was reported in Anderson Hall. On a north stairway, derogatory writing about a fraternity was written in various locations.

A female student reported assault from Letts Hall, saying a male student slapped her in the face. The male student was not a residence hall student. The female did not press charges, but she wants the individual to be barred from residence halls.

A stuck elevator was reported in Anderson Hall. A female student was stuck from 1:23 until 1:36 p.m. When Public Safety officers arrived, an elevator technician was already on the scene.

A former graduate student was barred from the Dean of Students office after making unwanted contact with a community member. The former student cannot return to campus.

Wednesday, Feb 23

Vandalism was reported on the main Quad near the Ward Circle building. A student reportedly ripped down a banner hanging on the Quad. When officers arrived, the student fled on foot. During the foot pursuit, the individual fell and the officers were able to identify him.

A resident assistant reported simple assault in Anderson Hall. The RA told a group of individuals that they were being too noisy. The second time she told the individuals to be quiet, one of the males in the group came up to her and gave her a bear hug. The RA reported the male's demeanor to be threatening. The male is a residence hall student. He was given an order by Judicial Affairs and Mediation Services to stay away from the RA.
