Dean Claudio Grossman spoke about the Washington College of Law's goals and educational purposes as the guest of honor last night at the third "Dialog with the Dean" program.
Grossman spoke to about a dozen students on the history of the Washington College of Law.
"The two women that founded the law school in 1896 [Ellen Spencer Mussey and Emma Gillett] fought for gender equality and believed in the importance of women lawyers," Grossman said.
He also stressed the fact that everything has a legal connotation, including newspapers and politics.
McDowell Hall Resident Director Eric Ratner and School of Communication professor W. Joseph Campbell sponsored the event.
The next "Dialog with the Dean," to be held after spring break, will feature Dean Kay Mussell of the College of Arts and Sciences.
