Wednesday March 3
Burglary was reported in Congressional Hall on Tenley Campus when a student reported that his and his roommate's computers were stolen from their room. The Metropolitan Police Department responded with Public Safety and interviewed the hall officers on duty. In the course of the investigation, the computers were found in the stairwell. One of the computers experienced problems with the hard drive after it was recovered, but the machine was intact.
Damage to a vehicle was reported in Centennial Garage as a car had some scratches on the door. It appeared to have been keyed, rather than struck by a vehicle.
A hospital transport was needed from the Beeghly Chemistry building. A professor was working with chemicals when one of the students had an asthmatic episode. The fire department responded and evaluated the situation for Hazmat. The student contacted Public Safety later that night and confirmed that it was an asthma attack that was caused by the chemicals. Indications are that the student is fine at this time.
Burglary was reported in Federal Hall on Tenley Campus as a Kenneth Cole Raincoat was taken out of an unsecured room. The coat was last seen on a chair Wednesday morning but was missing later that night.
Public Safety responded to a stuck elevator in Centennial Hall at 10:32 p.m. The D.C. fire department was called at 10:36 and arrived at 10:49. The one person who was stuck inside was freed at 11 p.m.
Thursday, March 4
A hospital transport was needed from Anderson Hall as the front desk reported a probable intoxicated person in a lounge on the sixth floor. Student was found lying on the couches, unresponsive. It was reported that he had had 12 shots of vodka earlier. The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad transported him to Sibley Hospital.
A false fire alarm due to human error was reported in Hughes Hall. On the 5th floor, someone was cooking hamburgers and they apparently burned them.
Friday, March 5
Medical assistance was needed in the Sports Center at noon when an individual had a seizure during a health and fitness class. The professor gave immediate care and the student did not need a hospital transport.
Vehicle damage was caused in the Nebraska Parking Lot when two individuals had a traffic accident. One driver backed into the other driver, causing damage to both vehicles. One car had damage to the rear driver's side corner panel, bumper and other areas, while the other vehicle had damage to the passenger side fender, mirror, door handles and rear quarter panel.
An individual refused medical attention after falling down some stairs in the Mary Graydon Center.
The Student Health Center requested a hospital transport from Nebraska Hall because of an agitated student. That individual was transported to Sibley Hospital for a psychological evaluation, according to Public Safety.
Burglary by forcible entry was reported in Sports Center when a locker was broken into in the Men's Locker room. In the locker, some items were taken from a wallet, including a couple of credit cards.
Public Safety took an informational report in McDowell Hall from a female student. She said she was approached by an individual who spoke to her and walked very close to her, making her feel uncomfortable. She told him to back away and he turned and left.
A hospital transport was needed outside the Kogod School of Business when a male, who was ill, fainted. He was transported to Sibley Hospital with an unknown illness.

Tuesday, March 9
Someone at the front desk of Anderson Hall witnessed someone jumping over the desk at Letts Hall and contacted Public Safety. When Public Safety arrived, one individual was found sick in the bathroom and had been drinking. Three individuals were involved in all, all under the age of 18. The sick individual did not require a transport and refused medical attention. All three were charged with an alcohol violation as one was a student and the other two were guests, including the sick person.
Wednesday, March 10
A resident reported that a key was lost in Leonard Hall.
A false fire alarm occurred in Anderson Hall at 12:43 p.m. when an elevator technician working in the elevator shaft triggered the system. No damage was reported.
Thursday, March 11
An AU shuttle bus was involved in a vehicle accident off campus. The driver's side mirror was hit and shattered by a truck that was in the lane next to it. No injuries were reported.
Public Safety took an informational report off campus as an AU alum called to complain about the way the George Washington University Police treated her. She was barred from an event at GW previously and wanted Public Safety to intercede on her behalf. Public Safety explained to her that it was between her and GWU.
Public Safety reported an attempt to commit a non-violent crime in the Mary Graydon Center when a Patrol Officer found a computer monitor was clearly tampered with in the Journalism Center on the third floor. The theft was averted because the monitor was attached by a table lock.
Friday, March 12
Burglary was reported in Leonard Hall as an individual reported the theft of his wallet from his room while he was sleeping. He had been in the room with the door unlocked and in the morning, he and his roommate were missing their wallets. There are no suspects at this time.
Public Safety reported an active monitor point in Mary Graydon Center as a false fire alarm was set off twice by the ansel system, which is used over cooking areas in the kitchen areas. No fire or smoke was found.
Burglary was reported in Leonard Hall as a credit card and some money were taken out of a wallet left in a room with an unlocked door.

Sunday, March 14
An alcohol violation was reported in Anderson Hall when Public Safety was called to assist a resident assistant who was responding to a noise complaint and heard the sound of bottles clinking together. The room occupant was uncooperative but eventually let the RA search the room, finding a couple bottles of liquor.
Graffiti was found on walls in Leonard Hall. The writings contained derogatory remarks about a particular individual. It was found in one of the elevators, on a couple doors on the first floor and in one of the stairwells between floors.
Public Safety took an informational report in Mary Graydon Center when a Patrol Officer noticed a door to one of the manager's offices was insecure. The officer checked out the area and secured the door.
Vandalism was discovered in Mary Graydon Center as one of the coolers was manipulated so that it could be opened. Officers later found a vagrant in the building and believe that he had done it as he was found with the type of beverage bottles that were kept in that cooler. The cooler has been resecured.
Robbery was reported on Nebraska Avenue near the School of International Service Building. A student walking along the street was approached by an individual who asked for a dollar. When she said she didn't have any money he threatened her and she gave him $40 in cash. No weapons were used in the robbery. The woman contacted Public Safety after returning to Anderson Hall. A Public Safety officer later noticed a person fitting the description and described him as a panhandler. He took an initial report and then went back out and caught the man. The suspect was detained with the Metropolitan Police Department and the woman picked him out of a line up. He has been charged with robbery by fear.
Monday, March 15
Graffiti was found outside the Butler Instructional Center as somebody spray painted the words "Free Iraq" on the side of the building as well as an anarchist symbol.
Graffiti was reported in Letts Hall as somebody took a marker and wrote something on a wall in a stairwell and drew a backwards swastika. The writing did not deal with any hateful statements.
Medical attention was refused outside Battelle-Tompkins Building when a staff member reported a student having a seizure. Upon arrival of Public Safety, the student reported he was fine.
Theft was reported in the Sports Center when some cash and a couple of credit cards were taken from a student's wallet that was left unsecured and unattended in one of the cubby holes in the Fitness Center.
Graffiti was found in McDowell Hall when a political poster on a resident's door was drawn and written over in addition to the door itself.
Tuesday, March 16
Public Safety took a report of assault threats to do bodily harm in Anderson Hall. A student reported that before spring break, he had received telephone and e-mail threats against his person. He identified the individual as a homeless person who had befriended other students and frequently hung out in the Letts-Anderson Quad. On the day of the report, he said that he saw the person enter Anderson Hall with another student. Public Safety contacted the student identified and he said that that was not the case. Public Safety has been unable to contact the suspect at this time.
A hospital transport was needed from Letts Hall, as an intoxicated individual was found unconscious and was transported to Sibley Hospital.
Graffiti was found on the Reeves Gate as there was writing on both pillars of the gate. One had "Free Haiti" painted on it while the other had "Class War in '04" painted with the 'a' of class painted as an anarchist symbol.
Bike theft was reported outside the Ward Circle Building. An individual parked his bike at the bike rack with a Kryptonite lock but did not remember if he locked it. When he returned the bike and the lock were gone.
