Bring old BB&T back now

Theoretically, changing the format of the BB&T Classic basketball tournament to feature a slate of teams from the D.C.-metro area was a good idea. In reality, it transformed the once nationally renowned tournament into a shell of itself, featuring two unentertaining and unwatchable games and a third game that would have been just as exciting as a stand-alone contest.


Hoyas drop slumping women's soccer

The AU women's soccer team suffered yet another tough loss Wednesday, 2-0, at Georgetown, dropping its season record to 2-5-0. After a scoreless first half, the Hoyas (5-1-1) dominated the second stanza, taking eight shots, including four on goal. As has been a problem throughout this season, the Eagles struggled to maintain the energy level they had in the first half.


For Agassi, victory in the journey

For one brief, shinning moment it looked as if tennis' comeback king could summon the magic once more. At 35 years old Andre Agassi, the oldest Grand Slam finalist in 31 years, did something few tennis players have done recently: he won a set against the top player in the world, 24 year-old Rodger Federer.
