Dr. Daniel Pipes, a well-known and controversial authority on the Middle East, spoke Tuesday night to a crowd of 150 in the McDowell Formal Lounge. The event, sponsored by the Kennedy Political Union, came under criticism by several interest groups on and around campus.
The theme for this year's Student Confederation Strategic Plan is "For a Better AU," which identifies their mission this year.
Several AU students and organizations are sponsoring a series of events on and off campus in an effort to remind students of the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and turn the second anniversary of the terrorist attacks into a day of service and commemoration rather than a day of mourning and sorrow.
