DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN

A hushed silence fell over the supporters of incumbent Student Government President Harry S. Truman gathered in the Eric Friedheim Quadrangle earlier today, as rumors spread that New York State Governor Thomas E. Dewey, a sophomore in the School of Public Affairs, had defeated President Truman, a junior in the School of International Service, by nearly 250 votes.

Kerwin fights giant smiley face on quad

Interim President Cornelius Kerwin fought a giant smiley face on the Quad this weekend. Kerwin, who has been training to be a cagefighter for months, won the match. Smiley could not be reached for comment at Sibley Hospital.

Freshman to enter dog-eat-dog world of dorms

Joe Bob Jones, an incoming freshman, recently received a very unique roommate assignment for the Fall 2007 semester. Jones logged onto his my.american.edu Web portal and saw Warhol "The Dog" Slackerstrom as his fall roommate assignment. "I wasn't sure what to think," Jones said.
