Freshman to enter dog-eat-dog world of dorms

Joe Bob Jones, an incoming freshman, recently received a very unique roommate assignment for the Fall 2007 semester. Jones logged onto his my.american.edu Web portal and saw Warhol "The Dog" Slackerstrom as his fall roommate assignment.

"I wasn't sure what to think," Jones said. "I know AU doesn't allow pets in the dorms, but I didn't want to be presumptuous. His family could have actually named him Warhol the Dog."

Jones applied to AU early decision and sent in all of the necessary files to become a full-time student three weeks ago. He was surprised he got his roommate assignment so quickly.

According to Warhol's Facebook profile, as much as he enjoys living off-campus, he is looking to live closer to where his parents attend classes. He is also looking to increase AU's species diversity.

Warhol, a grad student majoring in Justice, feels that he and Jones will be a perfect match.

"I really like the big green quad and chewing on things, especially shoes," he said. "I'm looking forward to living in McDowell Hall next year"
