Eagles dethrone Layola, 4-1

The rainy weather at the beginning of the game between AU and Loyola seemed indicative of both teams' seasons so far. Both AU and Loyola had been early favorites to compete for titles in their respective divisions, but at Saturday's game both teams got off to a lackadaisical start with a record of one win and three losses.

Production glitch halts sale of SmarTrip cards

For the rest of September, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has halted all sales of SmarTrip Cards, the reusable plastic fare cards, because of a product defect. "We get the cards in increments of 25,000, and the last batch we received, we discovered had serial numbers that matched cards that were already in service," Metro spokesman Steven Taub said.

Since taking over the starting role she has done her best to make the fans forget that former player Jen Liese, who transferred to Penn State, posted a 1.59 goals against average in her two years here at AU.

White House welcomes back tours

After a two-year hiatus, tours of the White House are available starting tomorrow to all people requesting a tour through their member of Congress, according to White House spokesman Scott McClellan in a briefing. This change will enable those who provide the required information to their representative or senator and who clear a security check to attend the tours.

The Eagle Staff on Semester at Sea: Before deleting AU credits for this program, AU should consider the wishes of its students in addition to the tremendous opportunity that SAS provides. If AU refuses to do this, it will give another example of its long history of turning a deaf ear to students.

Cold fails to heat up Nation crowd
