AU men’s basketball rolls past New Hampshire in home opener

In a game where they never trailed, the AU men’s basketball team dominated New Hampshire in a 68-44 win in their home opener in Bender. The Eagles entered halftime up 45-23, and led by as many as 28 points in the second half. With the win, AU’s record improves to 2-1 on the season, and they are now 2-2 in their last four home openers.


Swimmers seek to improve AU’s environment for LGBTQ athletes

LGBTQ+ athletes, past and present, have had to hide their sexualities due to the stigma they may face both inside and outside of the locker room. Being a non-heterosexual athlete comes with several obstacles, including harassment and discrimination from teams and fans, being labeled as distractions and feeling like a distinct minority among teammates.


AU basketball coaches discuss upcoming season at annual ‘Chalk Talk’

Basketball activities resumed at AU as the athletic department hosted its seventh annual Chalk Talk Saturday afternoon in Bender Arena. Full of friendly competition, players from the men’s and women’s teams were divided into four small teams to compete in skill-based events. The Chalk Talk concluded with a Q&A with head coaches Mike Brennan and Megan Gebbia.






AU athletics department to host 'Unity in Our Community' event at men’s basketball game this winter

In response to several racist and divisive incidents at AU, including the posting of anti-immigrant and anti-Semitic fliers on campus last winter, the American University Athletics Department will host its inaugural “Unity In Our Community” event in February in conjunction with the men’s basketball team’s game against Holy Cross.
