KPU to host former CNN correspondent Candy Crowley

Crowley will speak on a Women’s History Month panel

The Kennedy Political Union and the Women in Politics Institute will co-host former CNN anchor and chief political strategist Candy Crowley on March 6, KPU announced today in a press release.

Crowley will appear as part of a panel discussion alongside Director of the American University Women in Politics Institute Jennifer Lawless and George Washington University professor Danny Hayes in recognition of Women’s History Month.

Crowley began her career at a Washington, D.C. based radio station WASH-FM and later served as a White House correspondent with the Associated Press. She joined CNN in 1987 and worked as a political correspondent and news anchor for over two decades, according to the release. Crowley has hosted multiple programs on CNN including “Inside Politics” and “State of the Union.”

Lawless received her Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University and researches political ambitions. Hayes received his Ph.D. in government from the University of Texas at Austin and studies American political communication and behavior, according to the release.

The event will begin with a reception and book signing on March 6 at 5:15 p.m. in the SIS Founder’s Room, with the main panel to follow.
