Director of the Independent Women’s Forum to speak at AU

Sabrina L. Schaeffer will speak in the MGC University Club on Feb. 8.

Sabrina L. Schaeffer, the executive director of the Independent Women's Forum, will speak at AU on Feb. 8, according to Kennedy Political Union press release.

Schaeffer’s appearance is the spring kickoff event for the Network of Enlightened Women’s chapter at AU, and is being presented by KPU. The Network is an organization for conservative college women, according to its website.

The event will take place in the MGC University Club at 8 p.m. and will include remarks from Schaeffer followed by a Q-and-A session with students, according to the release.

Schaeffer has crafted a long career in the media both in front of and behind the camera, focusing on “persuading other women that a culture of liberty and responsibility is good for everyone, women in particular,” according to the release.

The long time communications professional has been featured in numerous national publications, including Forbes, The Weekly Standard, The Washington Times, Foxnews.com and National Review Online.

The event is part of KPU’s continued efforts to bring a diverse array of speakers and perspectives to campus this year, KPU Communications Director Coby Eiss said in the release.

“KPU understands the importance of highlighting the diversity of identities and ideologies at American University, and bringing Sabrina Schaeffer will contribute to our campus a unique perspective on feminism,” Eiss said in the release.
