Kodaline

Concert Preview: Kodaline welcomed to D.C. at the 9:30 Club

Kodaline, an Irish rock group, is bringing its heartfelt ballads from its new album to 9:30 Club April 23.

The four members of Kodaline grew up together and now share their love of music with the world. Their first studio album “In a Perfect World” was released in summer of 2013. Memorable songs like “High Hopes,” “Love Like This,” “Pray” and “All I Want” made this album a classic.

Notably, their song “All I Want” has been played on MTV’s “Catfish”, “The Vampire Diaries” and “Grey’s Anatomy” as well as being featured in The Fault In Our Stars soundtrack. “Pray” and “High Hopes” have also been included in different movie trailers.

After an impromptu week spent with producer Jacknife Lee in Los Angeles after their first album, Kodaline quickly stepped back into the studio and churned out its second album “Coming Up for Air.” They released this collection in early February 2015.

“Coming Up for Air” highlights the lyrical range and vocal talent of this young band. Ballad-y and emotional, “Coming Up for Air” allows Kodaline to connect with its audience on a seemingly personal level.

With two extremely successful albums and an incredible energy, Kodaline’s show is one to look forward to.

Kodaline will be playing at the 9:30 Club on April 23. Gavin James will be opening the show. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are $25.
