Meg Weekes leaves AU for unknown reasons

Meg Weekes will no longer serve as the School of Public Affairs’ associate dean of undergraduate studies after the fall semester for unknown reasons.

Jessica Waters, the current director of Politics, Policy and Law Program will take her place in January, according to the SPA website.

However, the reason for Weekes’ departure was never mentioned in a Dean Barbara Romzek’s memo to faculty on Nov. 19 obtained by The Eagle.

Romzek declined to comment beyond the memo.

“She is known by students, faculty and staff across the campus as a conscientious, hardworking contributor to the University in many different ways,” Romzek said in the statement. “We are grateful for her service. Please join me in wishing her the best.”

Weekes has served as SPA associate dean for more than a decade and first came to AU 21 years ago as a professor in the Department of Law and Society, according to Romzek.

Weekes did not respond to interview requests in time for publication.

Staff Writer Heather Mongilio contributed to this report.
