Eagle Rants: April 19, 2013

• @hats off to pro-life except even if you actually are someone that was born at the end of six months that isn't what Gosnell is being tried for, he is being tried for already illegal late term abortions and post birth infanticide. Cases like Gosnell happen when abortion access is restricted for low income individuals, not when it is available.

• @feminine product shortage: the AU United Methodist Women actually keep a cabinet in the women's rest room in Kay stocked with pads and tampons, free for situations just like this

• Both my mom and grandmother had pre-menopausal breast cancer, and I was just told by a doctor that I have a mass in my right breast and I need to get a mammogram immediately. I suddenly am acting like an extremely irresponsible, totally insane person. Help?

• Actually, a lot of phonathoners have worked here for many years. It's a good job. Now shut up about it, or we won't get to read rants at work anymore.

• I feel like I can't talk to you anymore. Every time I tell you something real, we fight, and I end up apologizing for being upset. I haven't felt this alone in a long time.

• So there were these guys yesterday on the quad shouting and protesting that they would have a day of silence, yet they still were talking very loudly. Do they know what the term "silence" means?

• About the Eagle not posting any positive stories about Greek Life, I've sent them in as well. Almost every Greek group on this campus holds events to raise money (some in the thousands) for good philanthropies and none of it gets covered. But a slightly offensive t shirt? A weeks worth of editorials and news stories.

• "I mean, look at the US Bill of Rights. How old is it? Four hundred years? Three hundred years?" - SIS professor
