•I am sincerely sorry that the tenley first floor girls bathroom has such disappointing levels of water pressure, but if you're going to talk about it here, you need to RANT about it. None of this nonchalant moping and whining. Get angry and actually tell us how you feel! You might want to file a 2-fix request while you're at it.
•Can we get less response rants and more witty original rants?
•I'd like to know: How does the rant community define feminism?
•I saw you in TDR today with that girl, Rangos
•If I had a dollar for every time someone pulled the dav door to get into SIS...
•Why do we even have to compare soldiers and doctors? Can't we just say that we need both and neither is inherently superior to the other? I swear, everything at this school is a pissing contest...
•Do I dare Disturb the universe? In a minute there is time For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.
For I have known them all already, known them all; Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons, I have measured out my life with coffee spoons; ...So how should I presume?
•"Well, there's a difference between caring about women's rights and being a feminist...in practice even if not in definition...." I'm not a lesbian, I don't act crazy, I look normal, and I care about women's rights. I consider myself a feminist because I fit the dictionary definition; you fit the definition too. Conservatism and feminism aren't mutually exclusive.
•@Conservative women, I am just curious, what would your women's group address if you do not consider yourselves feminist but believe in the advancement of rights for women? I feel that besides reproductive and sexuality issues, your ideas and "feminist" ideas would be largely the same. Is this the case, or would you address different issues? --Curious liberal
•@Why do you not want to be considered a feminist? I am a conservative woman and I DO want to be considered a feminist. The problem is that the term has shifted from supporting equal rights for women to supporting things that I don't support, like abortion. I encourage conservative social values, but I still want women to get paid the same as men and have the same educational opportunities.
•I've had at least 3 Eagle Rants not get published for no reason. They didn't use foul language, they were within the word limit and they didn't identify anyone specific. New Editor: PLEASE stop editing for content. You don't win any praise for censoring rants.
•To the TS Eliot ranter: I love you
•Seriously. Stop Facebooking your friends 7 thousand pictures of yourself in the library. You're not cute, you're not funny, and I'm sick of seeing your rodent face on my news feed.
•@"to put his or her life on the line keeping the rest of us safe" Unwanted military interventions in other countries don't 'keep us safe'. They only create more enemies, just like gang warfare. Stop drinking the Fox News Kool Aid.
•@”sadly RHA can't give out condoms due to the chance they might be expired or there might be a hole” Why would condoms sitting in the wellness center be more or less likely to have holes than condoms in the fitness center? I’m not following your logic here. And AU could easily put out a legal disclaimer with the condoms saying that any resulting pregnancies are not their fault.
•@”why do you not want to be considered feminists?”: Of course I support the idea of equal rights for females. I dislike how the AU feminists focus on non-issues like convincing the world that women are victims of a ‘date rape culture’ rather than focusing on policies that could actually be changed to help women (like not tricking women into thinking they need pap smears in order to get birth control and like providing public preschool from birth so that teen mothers and college age mothers can afford to continue their education without dropping out of school.
•If you left your silver house key in an empty pack of Marlboro lights on the benches in between Kogod and Battelle on Thursday, it has been turned in to the Public Safety lost and found. (I'm going to continue posting this until someone replies that they picked it up... hopefully whoever lost it sees this!)
•Best-Easter-Ever.
•@feminist issues: As a female, I don’t like how AU feminists pit women against men by saying that when a drunk man and a drunk woman have sex the woman is the victim because women are not responsible for anything they do when they are drunk. I think this is a dangerous lesson to teach young women. It does not empower them; it disempowers them. I had a drunk sexual encounter with a guy that I did not want to happen. But it was my fault for getting drunk in the first place, and I take responsibility for my mistakes.
•@"and soldiers take them with the 'hope' that their protecting others"- How dare you? It's not just a hope. The military of any country conditions its soldiers to defend AND to fight. It's a self-perpetuating cycle...you CAN'T blame the individual service people for that. Have some respect for those on the frontline and realize that there are people in this world who would kill you, your family, your friends, anyone who is opposed to them in a heartbeat. But there are people out there stopping them. Of course sacrifices must be made, but it's human nature to eliminate and overcome threat.
•Hello, I am a happy liberal sandwich maker for nice men! I want to be a housewife after college! DEAL WITH IT.
•My mind boggles at the idea of women not supporting feminism. Internalized misogyny FTL.
•Relationships shouldn't be antagonistic. Even if it's loving and non-abusive, a "me vs. him/her" mentality in something that's supposed to be built on support and trust is not sustainable. That's true for romantic relationships and close friendships alike.
•You're the sexiest guy I've ever met. But sometimes when I look at you, you look like a girl. But oddly, I kind of like it.
•@wondering about problems with AU feminists: Some girls can live the totally open sexual lifestyle, and that’s their choice and no one should make them feel bad about themselves. But most girls cannot have sex with many men on end without getting emotionally attached and then heartbroken and left feeling like they weren’t good enough for any guy they were with, leading to low self esteem issues. AU feminists encourage the sexually active and casual sex lifestyle as a fit for all modern and empowered women, when this lifestyle choice is not at all a good fit for most women.
•I have so much homework this weekend that I am not even going to start it.
•I feel like I'm hot in real life, but I always look really awful in pictures. Maybe my opinion of myself is just too high.
•Stop being so irresistible.
•@how I’m a woman but not a feminist: I don’t like how feminists (at least the AU feminists) are so pro-sexual promiscuity. They think it empowers women when actually studies show that promiscuous women have higher rates of depression. It may be fun to be “sexually empowered” now when you’re young and single. But many if not most girls grow up and look back on those “sexually empowered” days with shame and guilt (which often leads to depression and regret). Basic rules of economics, scare resources are more valuable. If you give it away to everyone, how valuable is it?
•@Bullying Club- I'm not sure... any ideas?? I really want to make this happen now!
•Easter is the best!
•Thanks for posting rants on Easter, editor. YOU ARE AWESOME! [Editor's note: You're welcome!]
•I have shaving my pubic area but I'm scared if I stop you won't be as interested in having sex with me. #razor burn problems
•Oh, my SCIENCE. For the love of NEUTRONS, people on the silent floor of the library, STOP making breathy moaning noises. I don't care if you're deep in thought! I WANT TO PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE!
•I'm a female conservative who thinks this female conservative club is a really bad idea.. singling us out even more is not going to help it will hurt.. join AUCR's and try to make that more prevalant on campus but please do not create this club
•I can't enjoy how great my life is right now when I know how hard things are for you. That's how I know I love you. Wouldn't want it any other way.
•@[Editor's note: This editor has a very, very large paper to write this weekend. Hence, the early wake-up.] We appreciate you taking time to post rants when you have so much other work! [Editor's note: Awww.]
•Ok, its been on the main page for 4 days and its really pissing me off, so I feel the need to rant. The photo with the article about the Brewer protest is a photo of the Perry protest. Can The Eagle at least get their days right, although I do understand the confusion, as both Brewer and Perry are obnoxious bigots. [Editor's note: We know which protest was which. Many of the Perry protesters were also the Brewer protesters. Also, the student conduct code email was sent to Brewer protesters hours before the Perry protest.]
•I'm an idiot that likes boys too much. It keeps getting me in over my head.
•HEY YOU. Yes you. Things will work out. Everything will get better. Cheer up, someone, somewhere loves you.
•Easter rants were mediocre.
•Really, now? People here STILL can't distinguish between "your" and "you're"??
•Finally free. You held me down for far too long. Sorry, but it just wasn't working, and you know it. You saw it coming, don't be mad please.
