Eagle Rants Feb. 15

• You left me, so don't try and tell me what I can and can't do. Either you're in my life or not, but I can't do this in between anymore.

• @"Am I leading you on?" Not your fault.

• @friend on hard times: don't end your friendship with her! She might need you in ways you don't fully understand. I was in a similar situation...it all works out for the best in the end.

• @Future Stay At Home Mom Getting Graduate Degree Argument: WTH is up with all these self hating women. If a man was getting a law degree but planning to be a stay at home dad, everyone would be like WTF. Because it's a women and we are somehow inferior, however, we encourage it.

• @ people sad that they may not meet a cute person they randomly met again- Did you get her name? Try facebooking her =) That's how my current boyfriend found me again

• Fitness center pet peeve: please, tall athletic men, USE THE HIGH PULL-UP BAR. You are 5+ inches taller than I am. You are physically capable of jumping up to the higher bar. I myself have to jump up to the low one. Frankly, you look a bit pathetic when you use the shorter one. If I can't do my pull-ups because you tall people are using the short bar, THERE IS A PROBLEM.

• You must teach me the ways of the secular flesh. [Editor’s Note: Her?]

• HAPPY HALF-PRICED CANDY DAY!

• @”I do care about "intellectual fulfillment". That's why I read books, magazines, and blogs that interest me. I have interesting discussions with my friends and family. And as far as I know, all that stuff is not costing me 50k plus. Intellectual fulfillment need not be so expensive.” Why can’t you accept that people get intellectual stimulation in different ways, and some people have different requirements for intellectual stimulation?  I do all of the things you mentioned as well, but I want to spend money on a graduate degree and get feedback from EXPERTS like professors (not just from friends).

• To the 2011 STEPper who left AU last semester but continues to submit Eagle Rants: you're not an Eagle anymore. Please stop. Seriously.

• It's always such a bummer to get reject emails for internships. :( I'm gonna be like the only AU student ever who has never had an internship...

• @”The movie rental place in the library is a great resource and is NOT a waste of money at all! I've had to watch many foreign language films for class and the AU library is the only place where I would be able to do so (they were not online or at a local library).” Please tell me what is educational about desperate housewives? I’m all for having educational movies. But the fact that the library buys every season of every tv show (and offers to buy any movies and tv shows you suggest) is an outrageous waste of money.

• Dear neighbors, When you slam your door, it's not only obnoxious; it also shakes the walls. Quit it.

• Hey Editor, I love you, stop taking crap from these biddies that have nothing else to do with their lives but hate on you for not having  eagle rants up when they want you to. Really, you're great c:

• @"Actually if parenting is done right" are you suggesting that parents should not have a job? Because I'm pretty sure that's exactly what you said. Also, I had a stay-at-home parent and I'm still willing to admit that I wasn't "parented" right. Get over yourself and your ignorant view of families.

• @person who is dealing with being single for the first time on Valentine's day- I completely understand how you feel. this blows.

• @”I do care about "intellectual fulfillment". That's why I read books, magazines, and blogs that interest me. I have interesting discussions with my friends and family. All that stuff is not costing me 50k plus. Intellectual fulfillment need not be so expensive.” Not everyone has friends who read the same academic journals they read on a regular basis, and meet at regular times to discuss it.  If this were the case, there would be no need for colleges. I require organization and regular scheduling for my intellectual stimulation, not just casual conversations with friends.

• My boyfriend didn't get my anything for valentine's day. I'm mad at him. But I didn't get him anything either. But it is my understanding the the social standard is that guys get girls flowers or teddy bears. And the girl doesn't have to get anything. Am I wrong to be mad at him?

• @”I do care about "intellectual fulfillment". That's why I read books, magazines, and blogs that interest me. I have interesting discussions with my friends and family. All that stuff is not costing me 50k plus. Intellectual fulfillment need not be so expensive.” Yes, and you could live in a 200 square foot apartment for my whole life because housing need not be so expensive either. Just because it CAN be cheaper doesn’t mean it SHOULD be. There is no better way to spend one’s money than on education. No one can ever take it away from you (unlike material items).

• @thinking about becoming a lawyer: You don't have to be a lawyer after law school. You can always go into public service or advocacy for non-profits (or lobbying, private sector businesses, etc). If you like to analyze and debate, you would like law school.

• @”I do care about "intellectual fulfillment". That's why I read books, magazines, and blogs that interest me. I have interesting discussions with my friends and family. And as far as I know, all that stuff is not costing me 50k plus. Intellectual fulfillment need not be so expensive.”  If she’s willing to spend my money on it, then why are you so bitter? It’s not like she’s asking you to pay for her degree. Would people get their panties up in a bundle if she were spending 50K on a car?  Funny how we value material items more than education…

• I like in class finals better than take home finals because I'm smart but lazy, so in class finals allow me to formulate BS answers off the top of my head while take home finals reward the less smart but very conscientious people who put lots of effort into their papers.

• So science has shown that period blood has stem cells in it (proven years ago), yet girls continue to throw away potentially life-saving blood-soaked tampons. Why is there no device that we can buy to harness the stem cells and store them for later if we ever need them?

• Hey roommate, who I ask out is none of your business, when I ask you one question for advice don't go telling half the floor.

• So to the guy who is an a capella group as well as in ??, you are extremely hot. Lets make babies together.

• Hey Technology services, if possible, can eagle rants become a forum for laptop renewal too?

• Maybe it's what every generation says but listening to middle school kids on the Law School bus today just makes me shake my head. Incriminating Facebook tags, pot, and girls wearing 'booty shorts' to class, I just feel like a weirded out 22 y.o. granny.

• kind of have a crush on my colleague, but I have a boyfriend. I sort of feel guilty..should I?

• WAIT THE EAGLE RANTS EDITOR IS A BOY? Mind blown. I always thought it was a girl

• wait there is a new eagle rants editor? I AM SO CONFUSED SOMEONE EXPLAIN [Editor’s Note: I AM A GOLDEN GOD]

• @have you ever met someone at a party, did we exchange first names?

• Forever alone.

• @My ex ruined me: I can't help but think you're my ex... and if so, thats the complete wrong way to think about it. Breakups are a growing opportunity.. so grow up.

• I'm a senior and this is my first time actually seeing these infamous rants. Needless to say, I will not be reading these in the future!

• I was working in the darkroom, and now I have some Tears for Fears stuck in my head. ? There's a room where the light won't find you...?

• Finally realized who Nick Rangos is.

• I'm not quite sure how to say this; you made it etxremley easy for me!

• A Valentine for Karl Marx: Roses Are Red So is the State Let us be comrades Because you are great.

• I suffer from the pain of a forbidden crush. The problem is, in the foreseeable future it won't be forbidden anymore. I'm stuck in emotional limbo!

• @"C- Will you be my valentine?(: Sincerely, E." If this is who I'm assuming it is (if E is a guy), then I would love to be your valentine :) Don't be shy, just talk to me or facebook me, I'd love to get to know you better!

• Cause they all gone stupid. They all got lazy. They worship all the money and they idolize the crazy. Everybody wants to go to heaven but everyone's afraid to die and what is God is real but religion is just one big lie. The bars set lower The temperatures higher someone got the spunky and set one big fire

• What I wonk wonk wonk is what you wonk wonk wonk, naa naa #rihanna

• @trust fund girl who willing to go on a date: I wish Eagle Rants actually allowed us to meet up, because I'd love to. [Editor’s Note: I allow it]

• @"Actually if parenting is done right... children's interests": plenty of people are raised by working parents. It's a perfectly feasible position. Some families don't have the luxury to have a parent home full-time.

• AHHH HOBY ALUMNI AT AU. YOU GUYS ARE OUTSTANDING

• DUDE my friend crapped all over the carpet a week ago...It still smells!

• I can't stop fantasizing about my boyfriend's best friend. I didn't know the best friend until after I was already with my boyfriend. I thought my bf was the perfect guy. But then I met his best friend, who is even more perfect. I feel like such a bad person, BUT I CAN'T MAKE THE FANTASIES STOP! What do I do?!’’

• @ Forcing women to get pap smears before giving them birth control....... The reason you should be forced to do a pap smear is because before you go off to have sex with as many men or women that you want, it's a good idea to know that you don't have an infection / cervical cancer etc... you know these things can kill you.... stop being so horny and learn about your body before you use it... # Disgruntled Future Doctor...

• That host guy on SportsZone is awful. Not nearly as good as that Eldahb guy.

• Yo, the reason we have fewer sororities is because of the difference between Panhellenic rules and IFC rules, not because people don't want to start new sororities.

• The SG and the Eagle must overcome their differences and unite to face their true foe: the ridiculously-loud-hallway-speaker-abusing radio kids.

• I’m pretty sure you caught my rant. Honestly, I didn’t expect you to read the rants after everything that happened here. I posted that because I was thinking it, not because I wanted you to read it. Of course, I meant it. Sorta. I mean, I know in my head it would be a REALLY bad idea… But sometimes it still FEELS like a terrific and highly appealing option. That’s “feelings I can’t fight”, I guess. Besides, honestly, I’m not who you really want there anyway. Weren’t we supposed to be each others substitutes? I wonder if you replied.

• Wait im still confused, is there a new eagle rants editor now? [Editor’s Note: yes.]

• Lost my panties last night going at it behind the church. So worth it.

• I'm grateful you made the post. It's celaerd the air for me.

• I can't stand my Arab Societies class. I love the U.S. and our military. FACT: until the universe reaches enlightenment en masse, no state can survive without a military. FACT: NO ONE loves war. People in my class, please stop accusing U.S. military personnel of being warmongers who love killing.

• BLOW YOUR NOSE. if you're sniffing every 5-10 seconds, you need to get a tissue and take care of it. jeez.

• @"But for real, the AU health center should not be forcing women to get pap smears before allowing them to get a birth control prescription. Is WI doing anything about this? No..."  Um.  If you went to a gynocologist they'd make you get a pap smear before giving you a prescription, too.  The only way around it is if you're a virgin...sorry.

• My date got a ticket to Founders Day! What an awesome belated Valentines present from AUSG.

• Any room on that tab for me to hop on?

• Look, Michael. Look what the homosexuals have done to me...

• I suppose I'm buy-curious.

• @Logic is for libertarians.  Libertarians like to think that they're being logical, but half of Ron Paul's proposals would never actually work.  There's a reason we transitioned away from the Gilded Age when there was no government regulation.

• Can you move out so we can actually start dating?

• Sitwell, that hairless freak...

• "[Editor’s Note: We can’t dwell in the past, we must push forward into a bright and better future.]" You just saved my life with that.

• Dear E, Hay gurl!  Sorry, but I can't be your valentine this year.  The truth is, I am gayer than Marcus Bachmann dancin' to Ray of Light in g-string 'n a pair a pumps! Unicorns and Rainbows, C

• 5 meal swipes says that Eagle Rants will not be posted until after 7 tonight.

• @bacon enthusiast: Actually eggs are a much better source of choline than bacon. You don't need to murder pigs for your fetus to have strong brain development.

• That awkward moment when you're wearing rainboots because you thought it was supposed to rain but it's not and now you're walking around in rainboots like an idiot.

• To the guy from a few days ago who posted about feeling fat after workouts: please, please don't despair. You weren't happy with how you felt, so you took the initiative and went to the gym. That's awesome! Eagle ranters are proud of you. Be proud of yourself. Confidence is more attractive than abs :)

• I'm considering breaking up with my boyfriend so I can see if you'll ask me out. At least, I'm considering telling you I broke up with my boyfriend so I can see if you'll ask me out.

• That really depressing moment when you want to get married but there's nobody in your life to marry. :(

• Am I the only one bothered by the fact that there's a homeless guy living in Anderson 4?

• I like how all of the blogs listed in the "Incubator" section of The Eagle are woefully out of date.

• That awkward moment when you're taking an exam and you REALLY have to drop a double deuce

• I wish you had on sunglasses to cover up those blue eyes. I wish you'd say something mean. Why can't you look off somewhere else if you catch me staring at you?

• Phi Sigma Pi  got an awesome batch of baby lambs this semester! We love you baby lambs!

• @Stay at Home Mom Haters: This is why I hate feminists. Listen, there's a reason why women make less then men. There's also a reason why women don't work as hard, or in as dangerous jobs as men (I.E. construction). The reason is simple: they have biological and other limitations. Women can't "do it all" like men. This "super lawyer mom" story is a total lie.

• Anderson 6 North, Girls Shower. Really!?!? Another used condom?!?!? After it was ranted about last week! Do we need to have a floor meeting about community standards???

• @Hell is other people, props on the No Exit reference!

• POST THE RANTS! [Editor’s Note: The thing about these comments is that I only read rants when I’m posting rants]

• @person who needs a roommate from 2/12...i do too!contact me

• Dear Editor- Could u please stop being so lenient with ur Rant selection? I don't care when u post rants, but when u do, please make sure their quality. There's been too many days full of sub-par or repetitIve rants...I trust u can do much better than this. Thanks. -A Frequent Rant Reader

• The music my friend is listening to is way too poppy and I hate it. Why aren't more hardcore fans out there?

Rant here!
