New York City Ballet with New York City Ballet Orchestra 7:30 p.m. WHERE: Kennedy Center, 2700 F St. N.W. METRO: Foggy Bottom-GWU (blue and orange lines) INFO: A Jerome Robbins-Twyla Tharp choreography collaboration will be at the heart of the ballet performance. COST: $22

Sunday, March 8 The Nine 7:30 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m. WHERE: DC9, 1940 Ninth St. N.W. METRO: U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo (green and yellow lines) INFO: DC9 features nine local singer-songwriters as part of a quarterly showcase, including Justin Trawik and Victoria Vox. "Krapp's Last Tape" 3 p.m. WHERE: Keegan Theatre, 3700 South Four Mile Drive, Arlington, Va. METRO: Pentagon (blue and yellow lines) INFO: In conjunction with New Island Project, Keegan stages Beckett's lesser-known poignant reflection on aging. COST: $20

Independent Film Festival, referred to as the "Sundance of the East Coast, showcases the feature-length film "Middle East," with "Grenade," "Noor" and "Demons of Cairo." COST: $11
