A Congo Relief Benefit Concert 8:30 p.m. WHERE: DC9, 1940 Ninth St. N.W. METRO: U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo (green and yellow lines) INFO: A series of funk and soul bands rock out to raise money for Congo relief efforts. COST: $10

FRIDAY, FEB. 20

"Vagina Monologues" 8 p.m. WHERE: McDowell Formal Lounge METRO: Tenleytown-AU (red line) INFO: You can buy your tickets for this annual student production at the Vagina Monologue table in MGC through Feb. 19. Ticket proceeds benefit organizations that work to prevent violence against women in D.C. and worldwide. Shows will also run on Thursday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. COST: $8 students, $10 non-students

"DCist Exposed" Photography Show 5-9 p.m. WHERE: Gallery at Flashpoint, 916 G St. N.W. METRO: Gallery Place-Chinatown (red, green and yellow lines) INFO: This is the opening night for the blog's juried photography show, featuring diverse images of D.C. from local photographers. COST: Free

NSO Youth Orchestra Day 6 p.m. WHERE: Kennedy Center - Millenium Stage, 2700 F St. N.W. METRO: Foggy Bottom-GWU (blue and orange lines) INFO: This free National Symphony Orchestra performance will feature promising local high school musicians. COST: Free

No Holds Barred 2 p.m. WHERE: Shakespeare Theatre Company - Harman Hall, 610 F St. N.W. METRO: Gallery Place-Chinatown (red, green and yellow lines) INFO: The award-winning Bowen McCauley Dance Company presents a series of works, including "Smile to Hide the Pain." COST: $35-$45

MONDAY, FEB. 23

"The Theater of Insects" 9 a.m.-5 p.m. WHERE: National Academy of Sciences, 2100 C St. N.W. METRO: Farragut North (red line) INFO: Go buggy for cool collaged photographs that set butterflies and dragonflies against found-object backgrounds. COST: Free

"Moving Perspectives: Lida Abdul and Dinh Q Le" 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. daily WHERE: Sackler Gallery, 1050 Independence Ave. S.W. METRO: Smithsonian (blue and orange lines) INFO: This multimedia exhibit explores destruction in Vietnam and Afghanistan. COST: Free
