Jazz Night Ninth Anniversary Celebration 6-9 p.m., food available from 6-8:30 p.m. WHERE: Westminster Presbyterian Church, 400 I St. S.W. AMOUNT: $5 METRO: Waterfront-SEU (green line) INFO: Jazz fans flock to this church in Southwest D.C. every Friday to see area jazz musicians perform classic favorites. AMOUNT: Free METRO: Smithsonian (blue and orange lines) INFO: Part of the "England's New Wave Film Series" at the NGA, this film features snappy dialogue and a Lancashire romance. Sunday, Jan. 20 "Havana File," part of the 12th Annual Iranian Film Festival 2 p.m. WHERE: Freer Gallery, Meyer Auditorium 1050 Independence Ave. S.W. AMOUNT: Free METRO: Smithsonian (blue and orange lines) INFO: An idealistic, Western-educated academic becomes involved in a promising biotechnology development, only to have it canceled by the Iranian government. In Persian with English subtitles.

"The Art of Being Tuareg: Sahara Nomads in a Modern World" 2 p.m. WHERE: National Museum of African Art, 950 Independence Ave. S.W. AMOUNT: Free METRO: Smithsonian (blue and orange lines) INFO: This exhibit showcases the startling art of the Tuareg, a nomadic people from northeastern Africa.

Monday, Jan. 21 West Side Story: Birth of a Classic Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. WHERE: Library of Congress 101 Independence Ave. S.E. AMOUNT: Free METRO: Capitol South (blue and orange lines) INFO: When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way, so celebrate the 50th anniversary of this famous musical with a collection of artifacts from the Leonard Bernstein Collection, including original music manuscripts.

Millenium Stage: A Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Celebration in the Concert Hall 6 p.m. WHERE: Milennium Stage at the Kennedy Center, New Hampshire Ave N.W. and Rock Creek Parkway AMOUNT: Free METRO: Foggy Bottom/GWU (blue and orange lines) INFO: Hosted by the Kennedy Center and Georgetown University, this evening of lively music will celebrate the life of the good Reverend.

Tuesday, Jan. 22 Marcel Breuer: Design and Architecture Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m, through Feb. 17 WHERE: National Building Museum 401 F St. N.W. METRO: Judiciary Square (red line) INFO: $5 suggested donation This exhibit showcases the architecture of modernist Marcel Breuer, most famous for his Whitney Building.

Open Mic Night 9 p.m.-11 p.m., tickets go on sale at 8:30 p.m. WHERE: Busboys and Poets, Corner of 14th and V streets N.W. AMOUNT: $3 METRO: U Street/Cardozo (green and yellow lines) INFO: The performers' line begins forming at 7:30 p.m. for this famous weekly open mic night.
