The hit list

1. "Killa Season"

If you like excessive violence, people getting peed on after getting hit with bottles and rappers nieces getting shot, the Scene may have a film for you. Rapper Cam'ron's magnum opus "Killa Season" came out on DVD last week, and frankly, it's two hours of vile behavior and less-than-amateur cinematography. But any movie that features a drive-by shooting on a bicycle redeems itself tenfold.

2. Darfur Awareness

The Darfur rally yesterday was a truly inspirational and moving event, giving a voice to those unheard. Lots of students took time off work to head down to the Mall as a school. It really reflects what kind of university we go to where students can become more passionately into a cause like this than studying for their finals.

3. 3rd anniversary of the end of war in Iraq

On this day in 2003, on board the USS Abraham Lincoln, President Bush declared that all major combat operations in Iraq had ended. Mission accomplished, guys. We did it! It's been two years living off the spoils of our victory, and let us say it has been sweet. These days, we just can't seem to lose a war. What a hot streak.

4. Alice Cooper, "School's Out"

He's right, guys. School is out. And for some seniors among us, school is out forever. So lean back, relax, and enter Cooper's nightmare.

5. Nature Walks

The weather is beautiful, the flowers are in bloom and the heat is still bearable. So take a walk through D.C.'s expansive green spaces and enjoy nature. May we suggest the nature trail between the corner of Macomb and Massachusetts? It leaves you on Van Ness, across the street from the Greenberg Theatre. Alternate route to Chipotle, anyone?
