Wrestling team falls hard in a brain-bashing battle at Maryland

The AU Wrestling team suffered a tough loss 31-12 to the Maryland Terrapins when they traveled to College Park on Wednesday night.

Graduate student Daniel Waters grappled well in the 184-lb. class with a win by a decision. Waters is ranked as one of the top wrestlers in the country in wins. Sophomore Tom Kniezewski also won by a decision in the 149-lb. class. Heavyweight senior Jared Hyman took home the top spot by way of a forfeit.

Senior Matt Pelligrino (125-lb.) lost by a major decision, while junior Adam Montgomery (197-lb.), sophomore Daniel Lobsenz (141-lb.) and freshman Dwayne Hash-Baberis (164-lb.) lost by a decision.

Montgomery collided with his opponent during his match, where he had a concussion and needed six stitches.

Sophomore Eric Levine (133-lb.) was pinned in 57 seconds.

Section 202 host Gabrielle and friends go over some sports that aren’t in the sports media spotlight often, and review some sports based on their difficulty to play.
