Student group helps Southeast D.C. teens

AU student group Facilitating Leadership in Youth recently helped teens in Southeast D.C. produce a magazine about gun control titled Why? Guns Killin Youngins: The Youth of Southeast Washington, D.C. Want Answers. The publication was written and put together almost entirely by the teens, with minimal help from FLY.

Finally, they're thrust deep into the American legal code, where they gestate into common practice.

Thirty-seven AU alumni volunteered in 2004 to join the Peace Corps, ranking the school as having the 13th most volunteers among medium-sized universities. AU's ranking has risen steadily in this list over the last several years. Significantly, AU is among the smallest of the group of schools categorized as medium-sized, with an undergraduate enrollment of just over 5,000.
