American University men’s basketball (4-3) extended their undefeated home record to 4-0 with a 103-74 win over Hood College. This victory goes in the record books for the Eagles, as they shattered their 3-point record with fourteen players from their roster.

The American University men’s basketball team (4-3) defeated the New Jersey Institute of Technology (1-4) 87-73 for their second home victory of the season on Nov. 16 in Bender Arena. After back-to-back losses at Villanova and William & Mary, the Eagles turned things around at home with a 78-58 win against Siena on Nov. 13 and Nov. 16’s triumphant team performance.

The American University volleyball team (18-10) swept the Bucknell Bison (15-10) in Bender Arena on Nov. 11, winning 25-13, 25-21, 25-18. This was the final game of both teams’ regular seasons and seeding implications for the Patriot League playoffs were on the line.

Last spring, Jack Maida placed fifth at the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Championships. His podium finish earned him a spot at the NCAA Championships. The 2.5 points he earned at NCAAs were the first for American since 2019. He’s been one of the Eagles’ top wrestlers in his two seasons with the team so far, something he’s been working towards for his whole life.

American University men’s soccer (6-5-5) lost in penalty kicks against the Lafayette College Leopards (9-5-6) in the Patriot League quarterfinals on Nov. 4. The Eagles entered the playoffs as the #6 seed, and the #3-seeded Leopards hosted the match.

It was a cold November night at Catholic University. 30 athletes had just spent 76 minutes running into each other, incurring cuts and wounds, scoring points and leaving everything they had on the pitch. The score was 24-18, with American in the lead. Catholic is ranked #4 in the country for the small college division and was undefeated going into the match.
