SUB, WI and WVAU to host 'Drop It Like It’s Hot' party featuring MXDHOUSE
This November, students can throw it back to the early 2000s
On Nov. 10, the Student Union Board, Women’s Initiative and WVAU will host a 2000s-themed party called “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” SUB director Bisagna Suh announced in a press release today. The party will feature DMV-based artist collective MXDHOUSE as a musical act.
MXDHOUSE has performed at local venues in D.C. such as Songbyrd and Diet Starts Monday. They have also performed at AU in the past. The members of the collective are Kleo, Shiva, Tashaze and Tahrook. Their most recent performance was SUB’s End of Summer Bash during this year’s Welcome Week, where DJ Shiva opened for Metro Boomin.
SUB encourages everyone attending to dress in their best 2000s attire to fully complete the vibe of the event. The night will also serve as a benefit for the D.C. organization HIPS, which offers programs that promote the health, rights and dignity of people and communities impacted by sexual violence and trafficking.
The party will run from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 10. Admission will be $5.
