Life After Hours: Feb. 23-25

Start Founder’s Week off right with Men’s Basketball and more

Founder’s Week is from Feb. 24 to March 3, and there is plenty to do to celebrate. Check out some events happening both on campus and off to get in the spirit of celebration for AU’s 125th Founder’s Day.

Founders Game: AU Men's Basketball vs. Bucknell

The AU Men’s Basketball team will play Bucknell at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The game kicks off AU’s celebration of the 125th Founder’s Week. In addition to the exciting game, Head Coach Mike Brennan has pledged to donate $1.25 to the Blue Crew and AU Athletics for every attendee at the game. The first 200 students will receive a Founder’s Day t-shirt. There will also be free Insomnia Cookies and Potomac Pizza for students.

Tickets are free with an AU ID.

When: Feb. 22 2-4 p.m.

Parallel Universe

ARTECHOUSE is displaying a psychedelic, fractal art exhibit created by independent media studio Ouchhh through March 4th. The exhibit features an integration of art, science, and technology in every work. There are four installations, “three world travelled and one created in collaboration with ARTECHOUSE” according to their website.

Tickets are $12 during the Daytime Admissions with a student ID and $15 during Evening Admissions.

When: Now through March 4. Daytime admissions are Thurs-Mon 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Evening admissions are everyday 5:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. (Sun-Thu) - 11:30 p.m. (Fri & Sat)

Pop Up Yoga at the US Botanical Garden

WithLoveDC is hosting a pop up yoga session at the United States Botanic Garden on Feb. 24. The event is free and open to all, although the session is first-come-first-serve, especially if the session must be held indoors due to inclimate weather. Attendees are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and a positive attitude.

Section 202 host Gabrielle and friends go over some sports that aren’t in the sports media spotlight often, and review some sports based on their difficulty to play.
