With summer break in full swing, there is more than enough time for exploring and taking fun vacations. If you happen to find yourself traveling through Virginia, check out these fun coffee shops.

Mom & Pop

Hours: 7 a.m.-10 p.m.

Transportation: Car

Mom & Pop is located in the center of the Mosaic District, which is the hottest new area in northern Virginia. The first thing to notice about the coffee shop is that it’s completely surrounded by windows, which brings in a lot of light for a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere is very homey, but the glass panel walls give it a sleek, modern look. In addition to coffee brews, Mom & Pop provides sandwiches like grilled cheese and roast beef, salads such as the smoked chicken salad, and a variety of quiches, including asparagus and swiss or bacon and cheddar.

The staff is very friendly and provides good customer service. Baristas take their time brewing the coffee, making sure the drink is perfect. They always have a smile on their faces and greet every customer. The coffee shop itself is not too big, but it provides a beautiful outdoor seating area which is perfect for a warm summer day. The outdoor seating is right next to the water fountains, and the shop has free wi-fi, making for a perfect setting to get work done while enjoying a nice evening. It's a place that will make you want to sit and stay awhile.

Bean Bar

Address: 1601 Village Market Blvd SE, Leesburg, VA 20175

Hours: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

Transportation: Car

The Bean Bar is located in the Village at Leesburg. It has a funky but inviting and cozy atmosphere. The cafe is decorated with colorful chandeliers and features the work of local artists, which are available for purchase. The decor is unique, delicate and pretty, especially the cute fireplace. There's ample seating at the bar with some nice couches, sofa chairs and various small tables for lounging and getting work done, but the service is also quick enough to grab-and-go.

For coffee, Bean Bar offers cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos and espressos. Alcoholic drinks and wine can also be purchased at the bar. For snacks, it has a variety of options such as scones, macaroons, biscotti and pies. For a fuller meal, they serve paninis, deli rolls and sandwiches. The coffee shop has partnered up with some local businesses, such as the Cardinal Bakery, Madcap Coffee, Trickling Springs Creamery and Sugar Pig Sweets to provide the drinks and snacks. Don't forget to sign up for their loyalty program by providing your name and number to the cashier, and anytime you spend $50, a $5 gift card is awarded.
