After their wins against both Northeastern and Ohio State in the Terrapin Invitational, the AU field hockey team extended its winning record to 6-0, taking hold of ninth place in the 2007 STX/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll that was released on Tuesday. The Eagles were ranked 16th in the preseason poll and 12th in the nation in the first regular season poll released. American lies just below James Madison, who takes eighth in the poll, and just above Duke, who takes 10th. The University of North Carolina currently holds the No. 1 spot. The next poll will be released Tuesday.
