Women's soccer tops Mount St. Mary's

The AU women's soccer team won its first match of the season on Saturday, beating Mount St. Mary's 5-0.

Freshman Kelly McLaughlin scored the first goal 15 minutes into the game, giving the Eagles an early lead.

The team's next four goals came in the second half. Sophomore Lindsey Miller had two assists on the day, while senior Jana Lee scored her 15th career goal.

Volleyball opens season at 1-2

The AU women's volleyball team competed at the D.C. Challenge Tournament last weekend, dropping their opening two matches before finally grabbing a win on Saturday.

The Eagles lost their opening match to George Mason on Friday night, 3-2. A win in the opening game of their match against GW on Saturday wasnt enough, as they went on to lose to the Colonials, 3-1.

AU managed to salvage a win in their last match of the tournament, beating Georgetown 3-1.

The Eagles take on Howard in their next match on Friday at 7 p.m.
