Rodney makes his opinions known

A former employee of Jamba Juice, Rodney, was recently spotted working at RFK Stadium, according to an Eagle investigative reporter.

Rodney, best known for his loud raspy voice that effectively made Jamba Juice patrons listen for their numbers, is now selling beer during games. He said he enjoys this job much more than Jamba Juice.

"Instead of me waitin' for those [students] to listen to me ... people here [are] waitin' just fo' me to scream 'beer,'" Rodney said.

Your Mom said she recently saw Rodney selling beer at the stadium during a Nationals game.

"He really seems like he is in his element," she said. "People actually want to hear him yell the astronomical price of beer here. He's that popular."

Rodney said he prefers selling beer to making smoothies.

"No meal swipes and Eagle Bucks and all that ... here," he said. "It's much easier to handle cash."

He also said he likes that he only has three different brands of beer to sell and does not have to remember the vast variety of flavors Jamba Juice has to offer.

"I'll quit this when they come out with 'Orange Dream Machine' beer," he said.

Back at AU, students who remember Rodney wish he would return to Jamba Juice.

"It's just not the same without him," said Miller Time. "I haven't bought a Jamba Juice since he left, and without the meal swipes, I doubt I ever will."

Time said he thinks students would start buying Jamba Juice again without the meal swipes if Rodney came back.

"There's just something about the way he says 'Numba 99!' that gets me every time," he said.
