1. How do I write for The Eagle?
Each section of The Eagle has a weekly pitch meeting where all section editors pitch and assign stories and their corresponding deadlines. Make sure we have your email address so we can keep you updated with article information, meeting times, and send any other story pitches .
2. What can I write?
You can write about almost anything: sports, op-eds, news reports, profiles, features, music reviews, investigative packages, photo essays, concerts, restaurant reviews, cartoons, briefs... you name it! There are also countless news and feature-related beats available to staff writers.
3. What does the Eagle cover?
We cover local news, features, movies, music, comics, video games, local art and theater; columns, editorials and sports. All stories either focus on issues that affect college students or are specific to AU or D.C.
4. How do I get involved in design, web or multimedia?

5. Do I have to be a journalism major to write for The Eagle?
No! While it can be helpful to have some journalism background, previous experience or a major in journalism is certainly not required. We will help you learn style and reporting guidelines and will give you pointers on how to become a better reporter or columnist.
