For Field Hockey, home turf finally in sight

The AU Track team had a productive weekend at the Bucknell Invitational, as senior captain Sean Duffy won the 1500 meter race with a time of 3:43 to lead the Eagles. Also racing in the 1500 were freshman Steve Hallinan, who placed sixth, and Brendan Fennell, in twelfth.

The Washington Nationals are bringing baseball back to the nation's capital for the first time since 1971, giving Major League Baseball something to be proud of in a time marred by steroid scandals and a few dominant teams killing the competitive feel.

No. 11 Johns Hopkins, with the ninth best offense in the nation, didn't score once, while the upset-minded Eagles got a pair of goals from junior midfielder Moriah Linnell to trail by two at halftime.

Playing in its fifth tournament in six weeks, the team dominated the Lafayette Invitational, earning its first win of the season by six strokes with a team score of 595.
