Blaster virus infects

On the first day, the computer help desk at AU received hundreds of calls about the Blaster virus, according to the Help Desk Manager Sean Stockburger. The virus was released on Aug. 11. On Aug. 18, students began moving back on campus and began flooding the phones again.

Eagle Nights sumo-sized for new year

The weekly phenomenon known as Eagle Nights resumed yesterday in the Tavern with a fun-filled schedule of themed events planned, according to Eagle Nights Director Kyle Taylor.ÿEagle Nights will still retain its wacky flair, said Taylor, who took over for recent graduate Joshua "Shwa" Losben.

Students celebrated Labor Day by using their meal plans to partake in an Hawaiian Beach Party sponsored by the Student Confederation, AU's student body government, and Bon Appetit on Monday.

Rain brings flooding, power loss

A Tuesday afternoon thunderstorm caused flooding and power outages across the AU campus, forcing the Washington College of Law to cancel Wednesday classes, and has been blamed for a car accident that slightly injured an AU graduate student. The swift rainfall brought flooding to stairwells in several buildings and the Nebraska Parking Lot and knocked out power in Nebraska Hall and the WCL building, according to Willy Suter, director of Physical Plant Operations.

Hoyas seek building for crew

Georgetown University hopes to build a boathouse for its crew teams - an idea that has won praise from the AU Crew team. The proposed boathouse, which would be built on an acre on the Potomac River between 34th Street NW and the entrance to Georgetown's campus, would total about 33,000 square feet.
