When people ask me about college, the first thing I typically talk about is The Eagle. I may be graduating with a degree in journalism, but it often feels like my real major has been The Eagle.

American University’s commencement speakers this spring will include high-profile figures with ties to the D.C. region including Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and former Maryland governor Larry Hogan.

After 468 days at the bargaining table and the past week spent on strike, the American University Staff Union secured a contract with the University. The Union went on strike from Aug. 22 to Aug. 26, against what staff said were unfair wages, a result of unsuccessful bargaining sessions with the administration during the negotiating process.
