Men’s soccer finally secures first win at home

AU’s men’s soccer team beat Army West Point 2-0 on Saturday during their last home game of the season. This was the first home win for the Eagles this season, making it the first home win for first-year coach Zach Samol. Goals from junior Nick Dimitrijevic and senior Fabio Massaro, as well as a strong team effort, brought forth this victory.






Absence of star players is hurting AU women’s basketball this season, but only slightly

After an incredible season last year that led to a NCAA tournament appearance, AU’s women’s basketball has come out a bit slower this year. Last season’s 26-7 record (and 16-2 in the Patriot League) has turned into a slightly more disappointing 11-8 so far this season. However, when analyzing the team’s statistics, it is difficult to fully understand why.



Sa’eed Nelson has been "a monster" this season, and his performance against Wagner proves it

There’s 30 seconds left in the game and the Eagles are down 60-55. Junior guard Sa’eed Nelson dribbles the ball up the court, moves it a little, then shoots a contested 3-point jumper. He scores, bringing the Eagles within 2 points with only 22 seconds left on the clock.


Men’s head soccer coach Todd West parts ways with AU athletics

The AU athletic department declined to renew men’s soccer head coach Todd West’s contract last week, according to a department press release. West, who served as head coach for 19 seasons and led the team to nine Patriot League finals and three NCAA tournament appearances, said that he was “surprised” by the department’s decision.





Soccer forward Jerry Zouantcha’s second year is already yielding fruit

Bucknell had been leading since the end of the first half. With mere minutes left of game time, Eagles fans began to zip up their bags, collect their belongings and make plans for the rest of the afternoon, walking away from an expected loss. But for sophomore forward Jerry Zouantcha, it wasn’t over. After a few dribbles, he shot and scored, tying the game.
