“No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka” is a chilling documentary by filmmaker Callum Macrae on the civil war in Sri Lanka. The documentary follows the recent conflict between the Tamil ethnic minority and the Sri Lankan government.
Phyllis Plattner takes classic art and combines it with modern day images in her exhibit “Gods of War!” on display at the Katzen Arts Museum. Her paintings create an uneasy juxtaposition of classic images of war and religion with modern day fighting. The art is striking, symbolic and sometimes odd as she clearly uses the mixing of art as social commentary.

The Undergraduate Senate unanimously voted to approve a bill to reallocate $22,000 in rollover funds to the AU Club Council and the Student Media Board during its emergency meeting on Nov. 18. Both organizations will get $11,000.

The movie “Men, Women and Children,” which is based on the book by Chad Kultgen, attempts to take a deep look into our ever-growing technological world. Unfortunately, co-writer and director Jason Reitman (“Young Adult”) ultimately fails to do so. For the amount of star power and talent on display, this movie still falls victim to the typical archetypes of a typical high school drama.
