Set against the backdrop of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Women’s Initiative hosted its annual Take Back the Night event on Tuesday. Take Back the Night includes both a march and speakout for survivors of sexual assault. The event is a tradition that dates back to the 1970s and intends to break the stigma of sexual assault.

However, other students say the level of political polarization on campus has eclipsed those activism efforts.

Olympian Tommie Smith discusses new film about historic protest

The School of Public Affairs hosted Olympic gold medalist Tommie Smith and American conceptualist artist Glenn Kaino at Constitution Hall on Nov. 6 to talk to students about their upcoming movie “With Drawn Arms,” which tells the story of Smith’s protest of the unfair treatment of African-Americans during the 1968 Olympics.
