McGwire must fix image
November 4, 2009
Honesty is the best policy. It is a pretty standard rule most people live by and when someone is caught in a lie and the person apologizes, often times all is forgiven. So why does new Cardinals hitting coach, Mark McGwire, think this does not apply to him?

Johnston’s interactions with the audience were appropriately strange as halfway through his first song he asked the audience, “Are you still with me?” and got his answer with cheers.

Volleyball drops to 0-3 on the season
August 30, 2009
AU volleyball played George Washington University and Georgetown University in a weekend tournament, losing both contests 3-1.
The Lady Eagles played a better game against George Washington than against Georgetown. Despite losing three of four sets to GW, the Eagles were never behind by double digits. GW had 8.5 blocks to AU’s 4.0, and it was the major difference-maker in the game.
It was a hard-fought battle, as the teams remained close throughout. With the lead going back and forth through the first set, a 12-9 GW advantage may have been enough to pace the Colonials to a first set victory. Even though there have been some underdog stories, fans need to look ahead to four or five years from now.
First, there is the sad case of the Kansas City Royals. Once a dominant team, about 20 years ago, the Royals have now served as a farm system for other…

Washington Capitals
Last season, the Caps established themselves as the toast of Washington. They finished second overall in the Eastern Conference behind the Boston Bruins and first in their division.
