The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams took to the water as seven top five finishes were recorded at the non-team scoring Navy Invitational meet on Saturday.
The women’s team raked in six of the seven top five finishes. Freshmen Eleanor Clay and Morgan Haycock lent a helping hand to their team. Clay placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke, both with scores strong enough to take top-five finishes. Classmate Haycock was right alongside Clay, finishing the 100-yard backstroke a hair in front of her for fourth place.
The men’s team had one top five finish from senior swimmer Joe Coronato. Coronato took fifth place in the 100-yard free. Mentionable finishes also came from Brian Galm and Eric Sveum, who also competed in the 100-yard free alongside Coronato.
Both teams will have time to perfect their strokes in the coming weeks as neither side will compete until Feb. 21 at the Patriot League Championships.
